Frequently Asked Questions

natural herbal remedies for your dog or pet

1) Why is Rover's Remedy in tincture form?  We use a tincture form because the tinctures are more potent than powder or pill form.  Also, the herbs stay potent for longer in tincture form.  Lastly, tinctures are easier to administer to your pet - either drop on their food or administer orally.

2) My dog just started her formula, when will I begin to notice results?  Herbs take time to build in the system, so do not expect immediate results.  It can take from several days up to a week or more to know if the herbal remedy is effective depending upon the severity of the issue being treated and the overall vitality of the animal.  More frequent (3 times per day), smaller dosages are typically more effective than a large dose once per day as the herbs need to remain and build in the animal’s system.   Herbs are very different from pharmaceuticals in that they do not mask over the symptom, they work with the body to cure the ailment.

3) What is the best way to administer the formula?  Either use the dropper to add and mix into their food, or administer orally.

4) My dog is taking other prescribed medications, can I give him a Rover's Remedy formula in addition?  Yes, the herbs are natural and effective and can be taken along with prescribed medications under the supervision of your veterinarian.  We recommend that Rover's Remedy be administered at least 2 hours apart from other medications.  Herbal formulas have fewer side effects and are safe - interactions are very rare.  If you do notice any adverse side effects, please stop the formula and consult with your veterinarian.

5) Where do you get your herbs from?  Are they certified?  Kan Herb Company manufactures Rover's Remedy's unique and custom designed herbal formulas.  At Kan Herb Co, the herbs are individually tested for pesticides, toxic metals, yeast, mold, E.Coli, staphylococcus, and salmonella.  In addition, each step of the manufacturing process is regulated and recognized by current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPc).
