Hi.  My name is Dana Henry and I am a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbologist.  This is my dog Rover.  Rover and I live in Sun Valley, Idaho. The summers are dry and hot, and winters are cold with lots of snow. Last December, Rover came down with a bad cough. Every time we’d go outside for a ski or snowshoe, his hacking cough would get worse. It was obviously exacerbated by exertion and the cold. I thought, wait a minute, I am an herbalist and have a Chinese herbal pharmacy right here at home, why don’t I give Rover some herbs. So I made him the same formula I would have made one of my patients presenting with a dry, cold cough worse upon exertion. I gave him about half the dose I would have prescribed a person (Rover is a very lean, muscular 70 lbs.).

Needless to say, the herbs worked! Rover’s cough cleared up in just a few days. He was as healthy a two year-old black lab could be, and as handsome as ever! I mentioned this story to my good friend Ken, an avid dog lover. I told him I was thinking of making a few formulas to try and sell at the local pet store and vets’ office. Ken said, good idea, but I have a better one: Don't limit it to Sun Valley - dogs everywhere can benefit from the formulas you create.  And that is how the idea of Rover’s Remedy was born.

Rover is an amazing dog. He is sweet, sensitive, very athletic, and devastatingly gorgeous. I love him more than anything and it brings me much pride and excitement that Rover is the inspiration for providing dogs with effective and natural alternatives in health care.
